We have finalized the sale of 100 acres to a group of investors from New Orleans and the surrounding area. NPR will keep all of the property on the “pit side” to the end of the drag strip, and we will keep the land up to the scoreboards on the spectator side. NPR will also have full access to the 100 acres that we sold during our major drag racing events. The group will construct a new road course that by design will allow both drag and road racing to occur at the same time. The following is the press release issued by the group.

OPENS ONLY ROAD RACING CLUB IN SOUTH

NEW ORLEANS, LA (September 1, 2009)… The Circuit at Grand Bayou, Inc. today announced the purchase of an existing 1.8 mile road race course circuit and 100 plus acres of land from No Problem Raceway Park, LLC. The course, which is located in Belle Rose, LA is only 60 minutes from New Orleans and 40 minutes from Baton Rouge.

With the completion of the purchase, The Circuit and Grand Bayou opened the only road racing club in the South, which will offer one of the finest racing schools in the U.S., arrive-and-drive programs, corporate events, individual memberships, special events and more. For those more interested in being a spectator, The Circuit at Grand Bayou will also be home to the Gulf States Championship Racing Series, which includes nine events that run between September and May each year

Kent Broussard, president of The Circuit at Grand Bayou, said, “We have been working on this project for a year, and as of today, our members have a place to come to and enjoy the benefits of the only road racing club in the South. This is a win-win situation for our club, it members and for No Problem Raceway.”

The club is currently hosting daily activities for its members and their guests including daily access to the 1.8-mile road course, driving school classes, covered garages, and weekend side-by-side racing events. The club has also begun preparing the site for the construction of a clubhouse, condominiums, and an additional two miles of road racing track.

Pat Joffrion, president of No Problem Raceway said that the transfer of its road racing activities will allow his company to concentrate entirely on its drag racing operations and concert promotions. “We are nearing completion of our new outdoor concert stage that will bring major performing acts to south Louisiana”, said Joffrion. “We are expanding our drag racing facilities and are working closely with Mr. Broussard and the Assumption Area Chamber of Commerce to continue developing the Belle Rose area for motorsports enthusiasts and their fans”.
