thanks mike. found a converter. now tranny case is cracked. hopefully getting welded on monday.

TreeKiller good luck on the weld job, I never seen a welded one last. It might pay you to get a J&W bell hosing.

YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE BELL HOUSING DOES NOT WARP TOO MUCH AND CAUSE TOO MUCH RUN OUT ON THE INPUT SHAFT TO CRANKSHAFT ALIGNMNT, IF IT DOES THE TRANS PUMP BUSHING AND GEARS WILL NOT LAST LONG. MANY YEARS AGO I HAD SOMEONE WELD A TURBO 400 BELL FOR ME THAT WORKED WITH NO PROBLEMS. I BOLTED THE TRANS CASE TO A BARE BLOCK AND THE WELDER WAS VERY GOOD WELDING CAST ALUMINUM. I DON'T THINK I WOULD TRY IT AGAIN NOW, AND WOULD PROBABLY GET A NEW CASE. HOPE THIS HELPS. CRAFT

the crack is small and right in the middle of the housing.
