Sorry, this is long, but I'm pissed.
Last Night at NPR's weekly test and tune, I made my last pass of the night, went back to my pit, which was the second one from the tower, nosed the bike up to the trailer ramp, changed out of my leathers, and was about to pull off my clutch timer when I had to hit the head. So I walked into the bar, peed, and came out to find my bike gone. At first I assumed it was a practical joke and checked the pits for wherever some smart ass would have moved it. After about 2 minutes, I realized what had happened, and alerted Pat. We searched every enclosed trailer leaving the property, and came up empty. All the other bikes were lining up when it happened, so the attention in the bike pits was toward the starting line. Someone must have just got on it and drove off. I left the key in it, but I didn't think twice since it was in full drag trim, and I was going less than 100 yards to the bathroom, and it was in the center of the main lane of the pits with a light shining right on it. It was setup for racing so, no lights, no plate, strapped in the front, and slammed in the back. It should have been pretty conspicuous on the street at 10:30 at night. We assume someone stuffed it in a trailer just off the property. So now I have to get my old Yamaha running before Saturday's points meet. Identifying details of my departed... '07 GSXR 600 - blue and black Jardine GP-1 pipe Homemade mirror blockoffs that look a little too big. It only had the right bar end. The other was an aluminum bracket for my clutch timer. There is a blue toggle switch next to the kill switch that turns the fan on. The frame sliders are homemade. They are black delrin pucks on aluminum studs. The left fairing is torn around the slider stud. The homemade jack lugs/sliders in the back are white delrin. They stand out from a mile away. It has a primer-black Sharkskinz tail on an aftermarket subframe. The tail has an NHRA sticker and my competition number - 4270. The headlight has been replaced by aluminum brackets and a molded black cover which also has 4270 on it. The left rearset is just two pieces of 1/2" aluminum plate with no adjustment holes. ( see next comment ) The tank has a white scuff around the crotch area from my boot during my off-road, off-bike excursion in the grass past turn 1. The cracked front and left fairings with epoxy repairs don't exactly fit right. That's most of the exterior visual cues. There are a bunch of other documented details I can use to ID the bike. Thanks for listening to my rant. I am currently applying alcohol to the problem. And I hope the low-life who took it didn't realize the oil cap was off and got a leg full of hot Mobil1. |

I still cannot believe that someone would be heartless enough to do that. I really hope that they are able to find your bike, and it's still in the same condition.

Dave, keep your head up man. I was there Wednesday night when this all went down, and I think its pretty f'd up that some no good piece of s*** comes there and pulls that crap. Whoever took it, this is for you... If you want a damn bike, get a freakin job like the rest of us and buy your own. Its unbelievable that we can't even go to the racetrack without worrying about someone jacking our s***. There are people out there that knows who took it, and its just a matter of time before they start talking. I bet you thought you were stealing a 1000cc didn't ya? How does it feel now to know its only a 600cc?? Do us all a favor and stay the hell away from the track.
