NHRA has mandated that a helmet bar be welded in to any Jr. Dragster roll cage where a helmet can protrude through the cage. Since the announcement of this rule change, the NHRA Technical Department has fielded a number of questions regarding the rule.
I think this is crap but no getting around it everyone need to check their car I have the second car of 2008 and i have to put these bars in so we can be NHRA legal everyone needs to get the new rule update to be sure you are legal .This is a link to the NHRA Rule book page jrdragster.nhra.com you will fine it their. |

It's a very frustrating rule because depending on who you talk to. They say they will measure the gap in the bars different ways. Would not surprise me a bit if there is a welder there making retrofits.
