Linda,

I can understand the increase in the price of VHT. What does the increase in the price of VHT have to do with the price of a tech. card.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Arthur,

When we opened the track in 2001, VHT cost $220/drum and methanol was $60/drum. Today it now costs $640/drum for VHT and over $250/drum for methanol.

We use (on average) a drum of VHT and a drum of alcohol every week in preparing the racing surface. Without VHT, there would be very little traction on the racing surface. VHT puts the "bite" down the track so that you can run your car in a safe and consistent manner.

I hope you understand that we cannot cut-back on our VHT applications to the drag racing surface. Some tracks tried cutting back, but their accident rate dramatically increased. We want to keep NPR a safe and fun place to run your car.
